Titanic

The great ship Titanic, sailed for New York from Southampton on April 10th 1912. It was carrying 1316 passengers and a crew of 891. At that time however, she was not only the largest ship that had ever been built. But was regarded as unsinkable for its had sixteen water tight compartments. The tragic sinking of this great liner will always be remembered for it went down on her first voyage with heavy loss of life. Four days after setting out, while the Titanic was sailing across the icy waters of the North Atlantic an huge ice berg was suddenly spotted by a look-out. After the alarm had been given, the great ship turned sharply to avoid a collision. Suddenly there was slight trembling sound from below and the captain went down to see what had happens. The noise had been so faint that no one thought that the ship had been damaged. Below, the captain realized to his horror that the Titanic was sinking rapidly, for five of her sixteen water tight compartments had already been flooded.

Truthfulness

Truthfulness is the greatest virtues in a man’s life. It means the quality of speaking the truth. The true happiness and prosperity of man entirely depend on it. It ennobles one’s character and gives one a high position in society. It may not make one rich but it brings peace of mind. A truthful person is respected, trusted, regarded by people everywhere. A truthful man, on the other hand, has a clear conscience and does not fear anybody. So his mind is free from the anxiety that constantly troubles a liar.  He or she can not commit a little vice. A liar may gain success for a short time but in the long run he is bound to suffer. All religions teach us to be become great by virtue of truthfulness. A liar does not lead a peaceful life.

Truthful people have high self-esteem and are more confident than a liar person. Truthful person wins the hearts of any person by his quality of truthfulness. A truthful person can becomes the source of inspiration for others.

Truthfulness may lead the whole world to peace and happiness.

Why Smoking is Dangerous

It goes without saying that smoking is a dangerous habit. In spite of knowing the truth, more than 80% people of our country are in the habit of smoking. Smoking causes many fatal diseases. It causes cancer, heart attack, chronic bronchitis, and some other diseases. One puff of cigarette smoke contains fifteen billion particles of injurious matters. Nicotine is one of them. It prevents the free flow of blood through the veins. This reduces the supply of oxygen in the body. It damages our lungs. It also harms the nerves, damages the brain and sometimes spoils character. People addicted to smoking lose their appetite for food and energy for power. Smoking also pollutes the environment and the air. Besides, it causes irritation in the eye, offends the nose and unsettles the mind. Smoking is so dangerous that the stench of cigarette is repulsive to a nonsmoker.

Moreover, it wastes a lot of money. So all of us, irrespective of caste, creed, color, religion, and age should launch a massive campaign against smoking.

Duty of Student Life

The students are the future citizens of the country. They should read regularly. If anyone neglects his student life, he cannot build up a prosperous life. It is a matter of regret that our children do not study regularly. If this condition continues, the country will face a great problem. Everybody should realize the matter.

 Student life is the period to receive an education. The study is the foremost duty of a student. This period is very valuable. The future life of a man depends on his student life. It is the time to make life active. Securing good marks in the exam is not all. Both the acquisition of knowledge and the formation of character are necessary. We should read good books. Keeping good company leads to the elevation of character. It is our duty to carry out orders of our superiors. Students have many duties. They should be obedient to their parents and teachers.

The students of our country are very meritorious. But most of them are inattentive to their studies. Most of them take a part in politics in their school life. Many of them become disobedient to their parents. They should be away from an evil company. All the students will have to possess moral character. It is crying need to make the educational institutions free from violence.

The students who are meritorious and good in character will have to be made attracted in the teaching profession. The teachers will take special care of the students. They will be ideal citizens of the society.
